Some achievements are measured by a diploma. Others by the opportunities that diploma makes possible.

This July, 158 young women and men in Rwanda completed their training at the Marcegaglia Vocational Training Center in Bugesera, the vocational education center established by Fondazione Marcegaglia to provide practical skills and new employment opportunities.

The graduation ceremony was one of the key moments of the monitoring mission carried out in Rwanda by the Foundation’s delegation. The event was also an opportunity to celebrate ten years of collaboration with the Bugesera District and to closely review projects supporting young people, women’s entrepreneurship, and children.

Since 2023, the Marcegaglia VTC has enabled 802 students to earn a certified diploma, with an employment rate of over 63%. Alongside vocational training, the Foundation supports self-employment programs, microcredit initiatives for women, and projects focused on children’s education and health.

Investing in people means creating real and lasting opportunities. This is the principle that guides Fondazione Marcegaglia’s work: because every opportunity created today can change the future of an individual, a family, and an entire community.

From 4 to 6 September, Cromatica Marcegaglia will be exhibiting at B-CAD Expo 2026, the international trade fair for Construction, Architecture and Design, with an experience dedicated to the potential of customised metal in the world of design.

The exhibition space will showcase a wide range of applications, from solutions for construction, cladding and architectural components to bathroom furnishings and interior design, developed in collaboration with partners such as Axia, Nieder, B&D Home and Kalamitica.

Visitors will be able to see first-hand how continuous digital printing on coils can transform steel, aluminium and other metals into customised, workable and high-performance surfaces.

Participation in B-CAD Expo will also provide an opportunity to present an exhibition dedicated to the projects from the B-Palace Art competition, organised in collaboration with Sandrini Metalli. Focusing on the relationship between Cromatica Marcegaglia and architectural design, the exhibition will feature the presentation boards of the most outstanding entries, together with a selection of architectural projects created using Cromatica Marcegaglia.

During the event, visitors will also be able to explore the full technical and expressive potential of Cromatica Marcegaglia through two talks featuring the winners of the B-Palace competition, the designers involved and the Cromatica team. The sessions will bring together design vision, real-world applications and material innovation.

Through its participation in B-CAD Expo 2026, Cromatica Marcegaglia confirms its role as a technology serving architects, designers and companies: a platform capable of transforming metal into a customisable, high-performance surface designed to become an integral part of the project.

Continuing to invest, innovate and manage complexity while maintaining a long-term vision: these were some of the key themes that emerged during the meeting promoted by The European House – Ambrosetti, dedicated to industrial competitiveness in the new global landscape.

Two leading figures in Italian industry, Emma Marcegaglia and Veronica Squinzi, head two manufacturing groups that together generate nearly €12 billion in revenue, operate in more than 100 countries and employ thousands of people worldwide.

During the discussion between entrepreneurs and managers, moderated by Valerio De Molli, both stressed the need to continue investing even in times of greater uncertainty and to focus on innovation, sustainability and internationalisation as strategic drivers of growth.

Today, the 2026 General Assembly of Centromarca – the Italian Association of Branded Goods Manufacturers – was held at Palazzo Mezzanotte in Milan, opening with remarks by President Francesco Mutti.

Moderated by Daniele Manca, Deputy Editor of Corriere della Sera, the discussion featured Alberto Dalmasso, Giuseppe Lavazza, Giacomo Ponti, and Antonio Marcegaglia, Chairman of Marcegaglia.

“Many of the values traditionally associated with brands are also highly relevant to a product such as steel. Although steel is considered a commodity, the choices made by our customers – manufacturing companies and distributors – are increasingly driven by suppliers that can enhance the value of the product,” Chairman Marcegaglia emphasized. “Competitive pricing alone is no longer enough. The strength of the company, its reliability, the quality of service, its reputation, and the overall image of the brand all play a decisive role.

There are also other dimensions linked to the product itself. For example, CROMATICA by Marcegaglia, our latest innovation, combines design, aesthetics, and new applications with the traditional qualities of steel. Today, even in the world of commodities, the difference is not determined solely by what you produce, but by the value you are able to build around your product.”
