Marcegaglia’s sustainability journey was already underway at the beginning of the 90s with the creation of MADE HSE (Marcegaglia’s Department of Ecology, Health, Safety and the Environment), the Group company that still provides consulting services, training and laboratory analysis.

MADE was created from an innovative cultural approach: Marcegaglia was among the first to have an internal structure of professionals with specific technical skills and excellence. Its objective was to spread and enhance the company’s awareness and culture towards issues it considered strategic – environmental protection, health and safety at work, the constant training of employees and collaborators – in the belief that strict compliance with standards does not conflict with productivity, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. On the contrary, it is functional and synergistic with them.
