The new Liebherr Group LHM 600 mobile harbor crane was officially inaugurated yesterday at the Marcegaglia Ravenna plant, in the presence of the top management of both (family-run) companies. It’s the second-largest model from the German manufacturer—a true gem of technology, comfort, and operational safety.

With a reach of 61 meters and a lifting capacity of 154 tons, this crane ranks among the most powerful in the Port of Ravenna. It represents a key piece of infrastructure in the integrated logistics system that supports our steel production chain.

But this crane is not just an engineering masterpiece. It’s also been customized with images of the Rostock lighthouse—where it was built—and the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare Nuovo, as well as portraits of local port workers. A tribute to the winning combination of German engineering excellence and the beauty, skill, and craftsmanship of Italy.
