Brescia was the setting for the 17^th edition of Bilanci d’Acciaio 2025, the annual event by Siderweb dedicated to analyzing and discussing trends within the Italian steel supply chain.

This year’s study examined the financial statements from 2022-2024 of 1,764 companies involved in steel production, first processing, service centers and distribution, along with 3,940 steel-using companies.

The findings – prepared by the Siderweb Research Office in collaboration with Professors Claudio Teodori and Cristian Carini from the University of Brescia – paint a picture of a sector that continued to slow down in 2024. After the decline seen in 2023 following the “golden biennium” of 2021-2022, last year’s results reflected the persistent challenges of a difficult economic and geopolitical environment, which also weighed on global steel demand and production.

In this complex context, Marcegaglia ranked first both among holding companies, with revenues exceeding €7 billion, and among individual companies, with Marcegaglia Steel leading the list at over €3 billion. We are proud of this achievement—an important recognition of our daily commitment.
