ESTAD 2025: from Verona to Ravenna
Steel and innovation at the heart of the European debate
Steel and the future of the industry took center stage in Verona during the seventh edition of ESTAD 2025 – European Steel Technology and Application Days, the leading European event on steel innovation, organized by the Italian Metallurgical Association in collaboration with siderweb.
During the four-day event, participants also visited our Ravenna plant, where experts and professionals explored our production lines, automated warehouses and integrated port area.
Discussions focused on key topics shaping the future of European steelmaking:
- Decarbonization, featuring the AdriatiCO₂ project supported by the EU Environment and Climate program, a pioneering initiative launched in Ravenna for the capture and reuse of CO₂.
- Industrial transition, highlighting projects on process electrification, advanced automation and the development of new high-performance materials.
- Research and development, showcasing the Master Model, AI-based process control systems, intelligent pickling and new technologies for electrical steels.
The event offered a valuable opportunity to highlight Marcegaglia’s contribution to the transformation of European steelmaking toward a circular economy and innovative processes that optimize production, reduce waste and enhance quality.
