REF 2025: Europe, the United States and the future at the Medef Summit
Emma Marcegaglia, the only Italian guest, took the stage last week at Roland Garros during REF 2025, the annual summit organized by the Mouvement des Entreprises de France. The event brought together more than 10,000 entrepreneurs and political leaders to discuss today’s most pressing global challenges.
In the panel “Europe no matter what?”, Marcegaglia joined François-Xavier Bellamy (Vice President of the European People’s Party), Aurore Lalucq (Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs), Fabrice Le Saché (MEDEF Vice President for Europe), Stéphane Séjourné (Executive Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Industry, Entrepreneurship, SMEs and the Single Market), and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot.
The debate focused on tariffs, global competition, innovation, and competitiveness, with a strong call for Europe to take decisive action.
In his opening remarks, MEDEF President Patrick Martin highlighted the challenges facing Europe and this crucial moment for France, while also pointing to Marcegaglia’s investment in Fos-sur-Mer as a tangible example of industrial commitment.
