“This event comes at a critical time. Across OECD-OCDE economies, businesses are facing mounting difficulties that weigh heavily on competitiveness, innovation and ultimately on growth. But it takes in the best place: OECD is uniquely positioned to align countries around shared principles, tools, and peer learning”.

“In Europe, over 60% of companies see regulation as a barrier to investment, and more than 50% of SMEs say administrative burdens are their single biggest challenge. A gloomy picture. One thing must be clearly: business is not asking for deregulation, it is asking for better regulation. Clear rules, proportionate and stable to build trust. It is necessary to boost productivity, encourage investment and accelerate innovation. The alignment of standards and methodologies between countries is essential to build global confidence in simplification and ensure that better regulation becomes a real driver of growth, inclusion and sustainability”.
