French Minister for Industry and Energy, Marc Ferracci, visits the Fos-sur-Mer plant

French Minister for Industry and Energy, Marc Ferracci, alongside a delegation of local authorities, visited the Marcegaglia Fos-sur-Mer plant yesterday, accompanied by Chairman Antonio Marcegaglia.
During the visit, the Minister was able to personally see the ongoing projects aimed at revitalizing and modernizing the facility, enhancing its competitiveness and sustainability. Chairman Antonio Marcegaglia had the opportunity to explain these projects to Minister Ferracci, emphasizing the strategic importance that the Fos-sur-Mer site holds for the Group’s industrial dynamics.
“We are very proud to have received the visit from Minister Ferracci and local authorities,” commented Antonio Marcegaglia, President of the family group, “as a testament to the excellent reception we have received from French institutions, at all levels, both national and local, for an Italian company and the important production investments we are making in a strategically important region for raw materials and logistics.”
The Marcegaglia Group acquired the site in June of last year and plans a total investment of 750 million euros, which is part of the broader global strategy of the Group, with the goal of integrating the entire value chain. This revitalization includes the creation of 380 new jobs, safeguarding the 320 that already exist, and reaffirming the commitment of the Mantuan steel group to local economic development and sustainability. The significant industrial transformation project and the innovative technologies employed will make the facility one of the first electrified steel production sites in Europe, allowing for a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions.
