Turkey-Syria earthquake: Marcegaglia Group donates 30 thousand euros

Marcegaglia Group – which operates in Turkey with a plant for the production of stainless steel welded tubes and box sections at Ergene in Tekirdag – has responded to the humanitarian appeal to offer concrete aid to the people affected by the massive earthquake that devastated the territories of Turkey and Syria last week.

The Group, through Fondazione Marcegaglia, the non-profit organization established in 2010 by the Mantua-based business family, has decided to donate the sum of 10 thousand euros to UNICEF. The funds will be allocated to a number of immediate intervention purposes: providing first aid kits, food and blankets; ensuring access to drinking water and sanitation, preserving children and setting up shelters for families left homeless.

In addition, the Group, through its subsidiary Marcegaglia Turkey, which has been active since 2014, has decided to allocate an additional 20 thousand euros to AFAD, the authority established by the Turkish government for disaster and emergency management, which works to plan and coordinate post-disaster response and promote cooperation among various government agencies.
