CROMATICA dresses the Duomo of Milan
“Steel for Art”: this is the name chosen for the project inaugurated on June 24, 2024, in Milan during the event organized in collaboration with the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano (“Venerable Factory of the Duomo of Milan”).
Emma and Antonio Marcegaglia, along with the president of the Veneranda, Fedele Confalonieri, played hosts at the inauguration of Cromatica, which was also attended by the president of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, the Councillor for Economic Development and Labor Policies of the City of Milan, Alessia Cappello, and the president of Assolombarda, Alessandro Spada.
Steel merges with art to give life to a structure that not only perfectly reproduces a section of the Duomo of Milan but also blends in with it. 80 panels, made using an innovative digital printing technology on coil, developed by the Marcegaglia Group and used for the historic monumental complex, a symbol of the Lombard capital, to integrate into a context of absolute art and beauty the service spaces for tourists and those of the construction site for the regular maintenance of the Cathedral.
A concrete testimony to the visionary strength of the Marcegaglia Group, CROMATICA – Marcegaglia Steel is the high-tech solution for designers and architects: unlimited creativity applicable to a material like steel, which is ductile, versatile, resistant, and infinitely recyclable.
