DEVELOPMENT
AND CONTRUCTION OF POWER PLANTS FROM RENEWABLE
SOURCES ALTERNATIVE TO FOSSIL FUELS
CUTRO POWER PLANT
The use of wood chips for power
production permits to reduce
fossile fuel consumption and save the environment.
E.T.A., a joint venture with Italgest Energia,
owns and operates the power plant
in Cutro (Crotone), in operation since 2002.
About 170,000 tons of biomass per year fuel
the Cutro plant.
The result is a saving of up to 24,500
TOE (tonnes of oil equivalent).
• Net power to the grid: 14 MWe
• Operation: 7,600 h/year
• Average production: 106 GWh/year

POWER PLANT MASSAFRA
The plant in Massafra
(Taranto) is the first
RDF fuelled power plant in the Apulia region.
It is operated since 2003 by Appia
Energy,
a joint venture with CISA.
Local benefits:
• 94,000 t/year of RDF-to-energy
• 1,000,000 m3 of avoided landfill in a 10-years period
• 17,200 TOE (tonnes of oil equivalent) saved per year
• Net power to the grid: 10 MWe
• Operation: 7,500 h/year
• Average production: 75 GWh/year
